Locates, depth and documentation

Every dig starts with utility locates - no exceptions, no shortcuts. Lines go in at code depth with tracer wire and warning tape where specified, and we photograph runs before backfill so there's a record of what's where. Your future self, digging a fence post in ten years, will thank us.

We schedule inspections at open-trench stage and keep the trench safe and accessible until sign-off.

Common questions

How deep do lines get buried?

Code and frost depth rule: commonly 18-48 inches depending on the utility and jurisdiction. Sewer depth is dictated by fall - which is why it gets laser-shot, not eyeballed.

Can you trench near trees and landscaping?

Yes - and where roots or finished areas matter, we can bore under instead of trenching through. We'll price both routes.

Do you do the hookups too?

We dig, bed and backfill; licensed plumbers and electricians make the connections. We coordinate the schedule so the trench is open exactly when they need it.
